It forms a thin, protective oily film that effectively seals out moisture and protects machined parts against rust during intermediate storage, transport, or long-term warehousing. The fluid easily displaces residual water from metal surfaces after wet machining or aqueous cleaning processes and can be applied by dipping, spraying, or brushing. It is easily removable using standard industrial alkaline cleaners or solvent degreasers when the components are ready for subsequent processing or assembly.
