Mobil SHC Rarus 68 is an exceptional, high-performance synthetic air compressor oil designed primarily for the severe service requirements of heavy-duty rotary screw and vane air compressors. Formulated from high-viscosity index synthetic base stocks and a proprietary high-performance additive system, it provides outstanding protection and reliability for compressors operating under conditions where mineral oil-based products fall short, such as high discharge temperatures or extended oil drain intervals. Typical technical properties include an ISO viscosity grade of 68, a kinematic viscosity of 68 mm2/s at 40°C and 10.2 mm2/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 135, a density of 0.850 g/ml at 15°C, a pour point of -45°C, and a flash point of 254°C.
