Mobilgard 1 HSD 5W-40 is a synthetic, high-performance heavy-duty diesel engine oil specifically engineered for high-speed marine diesel engines operating in severe service conditions. Formulated with advanced synthetic base stocks and a balanced additive system, it delivers outstanding low-temperature pumpability, exceptional oxidation and thermal stability, and superior protection against wear, soot accumulation, and piston deposits. Typical technical properties include an SAE viscosity grade of 5W-40, a kinematic viscosity of approximately 85.0 mm2/s at 40°C and 14.2 mm2/s at 100°C, a high viscosity index of 172, a density of approximately 0.855 g/ml at 15°C, a total base number (TBN) of 10 mg KOH/g, a pour point of -45°C, and a flash point of 228°C.
