Product Description

Mobilgard 540 is an extra-high-performance marine diesel engine cylinder oil designed for use in modern, highly-rated two-stroke crosshead marine engines operating on heavy fuel oil (HFO) with varying sulfur levels. It is formulated to provide outstanding control of piston crown land deposits, excellent anti-wear properties, and superior protection against corrosive liner wear under severe operating conditions. This product is supplied in a 208-liter drum (Fass). Key technical properties include an SAE viscosity grade of 50, a kinematic viscosity of approximately 205 mm2/s at 40°C and 19.5 mm2/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 95, a density of approximately 0.932 g/ml at 15°C, a high total base number (TBN) of 40 mg KOH/g, a pour point of -15°C, and a flash point of 240°C.
