Shell Gadinia S3 40 is an advanced, multi-functional marine diesel engine lubricant specifically engineered for highly rated, medium-speed trunk piston engines operating on distillate fuels (with sulfur content up to 1%). Delivered in a standard 209-liter industrial drum, this SAE 40 viscosity grade lubricant is also highly versatile, making it suitable for smaller marine reduction gears, stern tubes, deck machinery, and specialized turbochargers requiring a heavier grade oil. Formulated with premium mineral base stocks and a dedicated additive package, Shell Gadinia S3 40 excels at controlling high-temperature piston deposits, preventing ring sticking, and resisting liner lacquering. Its 12 TBN (Total Base Number) chemistry provides excellent acid neutralization to insulate internal engine components against corrosive wear from fuel combustion byproducts.
