Shell Gadus S3 V770D 1 is an ultra-heavy-duty, high-temperature extreme pressure (EP) grease designed for the protection of severe, slow-moving industrial machinery operating under extreme loads and continuous shock forces. The "D" designator signifies the inclusion of solid lubricants (Molybdenum Disulfide). It utilizes an exceptionally high viscosity mineral base oil (ISO VG 770) thickened with a highly stable lithium-complex soap matrix. The standout feature of this grease is its extreme 770 cSt base oil viscosity combined with the softer NLGI Grade 1 consistency. This specialized formulation is designed for automated centralized lubrication systems, ensuring excellent pumpability through long distribution pipelines without losing the high load-bearing oil film strength critical for low-speed parts. Under severe loading conditions, the heavy base oil maintains a highly resilient hydrodynamic film. When extreme shock loads or intense vibrations threaten to break this fluid film, the fine MoS₂ solid particles plate onto the metal surfaces, preventing direct steel-to-steel contact, scuffing, and wear. The 180 kg heavy-duty steel drum is the ultimate bulk packaging configuration for high-demand mining operations, processing plants, quarries, and steel mills. It connects directly to automated centralized lubrication networks and heavy-duty pneumatic drum pumps. This large-volume packaging optimizes bulk handling logistics, significantly reduces container swap downtime, and protects the premium moly-grease from plant-floor dust, water, and debris, ensuring a clean and continuous feed to heavily loaded pins, bushings, slow-moving conveyor bearings, and screen drives.
