Shell Gadus S5 T100 2 is an ultra-high performance, fully synthetic, long-life grease developed to provide outstanding lubrication in high-speed rolling element bearings operating at elevated temperatures or under extreme thermal cycling. The grease features a premium synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oil thickened with an advanced polyurea (diurea) non-soap thickener matrix, complemented by a highly specialized additive package. The primary engineering advantage of Shell Gadus S5 T100 2 is the combination of its polyurea thickener and fully synthetic base oil. Traditional lithium-complex greases are prone to oxidation and thermal degradation when exposed to constant high temperatures over long periods, leading to grease hardening and bearing failure. In contrast, the polyurea thickener in Gadus S5 T100 2 offers exceptional inherent oxidation stability, structural shear strength, and high-temperature resistance. Meanwhile, the PAO base oil guarantees low fluid friction and superb low-temperature flowability, allowing cold startups down to -40°C while maintaining an extremely stable, load-bearing fluid film up to 180°C. The 170 kg heavy-duty industrial steel drum is the standard bulk packaging layout utilized by major manufacturing facilities, power generation plants, paper mills, and automated factory assembly floors with centralized grease systems. Connecting directly with heavy-duty pneumatic drum pumps or automated multi-point distribution pipelines, the 170 kg format optimizes bulk handling efficiency and dramatically cuts down container changeover cycles.
