Shell Gadus S5 T460 1.5 is an ultra-performance, fully synthetic, high-temperature extreme pressure (EP) grease engineered for heavily loaded, slow-to-medium-speed industrial bearings operating under intense thermal conditions. It utilizes a heavy synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oil and an advanced polyurea (diurea) non-soap thickener, fortified with high-performance anti-wear, extreme pressure, and anti-corrosion additives. The key performance advantage of Shell Gadus S5 T460 1.5 is its intermediate NLGI 1.5 consistency paired with a heavy 460 cSt base oil viscosity. Traditional lithium or complex-soap greases can degrade, harden, or run out when exposed to continuous high temperatures and heavy loads, leaving bearings dry. The advanced diurea thickener in this grease has exceptional thermal stability, maintaining its soft, grease-like structure without melting or bleeding out prematurely. Meanwhile, the heavy PAO synthetic base oil maintains an incredibly thick, friction-reducing fluid film to prevent metal-on-metal wear, while still flowing smoothly at temperatures down to -40°C for secure cold-weather startups. The 400 g grease cartridge is the standard pull-off plastic or fiberboard cartridge used globally for manual maintenance, quick repairs, and grease gun refills.
