Shell Gadus S5 V100 2 is an ultra-high-performance, fully synthetic multipurpose grease engineered to provide superior protection for rolling element bearings operating under high speeds, high temperatures, or extreme cold. It utilizes a pure polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base oil structured within a premium lithium complex soap thickener, fortified with an advanced package of anti-wear, extreme pressure, rust prevention, and antioxidant additives. The key engineering advantage of Shell Gadus S5 V100 2 is its exceptionally low traction coefficient and wide operating temperature window (-50°C to +150°C). Because the PAO base oil molecules are completely uniform, they experience much less internal molecular friction compared to mineral oils. This reduces power consumption, lowers operating temperatures within the bearing housing, and extends the mechanical service life of components. The premium lithium complex thickener provides high structural stability, meaning the grease resists softening and mechanical breakdown under heavy vibration or high-speed shearing.
