Shell Helix HX8 ECT 5W-30 is a fully synthetic motor oil engineered to deliver advanced engine protection and compatible performance with modern exhaust emission systems. It utilizes Shell’s Emission Compatible Technology (ECT) alongside synthetic base oils to keep sensitive Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) clean and protect gasoline three-way catalysts from harmful ash accumulation. Designed for gasoline, diesel, and gas-powered vehicles, this low-SAPS lubricant actively guards against sludge build-up and piston deposits under demanding driving conditions. The oil exhibits a low kinematic viscosity at lower temperatures to facilitate quick oil circulation during cold starts, significantly reducing initial engine wear. With a high thermal stability and strong resistance to oxidation, it maintains its viscosity and protective properties throughout long oil drain intervals. The product features a typical kinematic viscosity of around 69.6 mm²/s at 40°C and 11.9 mm²/s at 100°C, combined with a pour point near -45°C for outstanding cold-weather fluid flow.
