Shell Morlina S2 B 220 (formerly known as Shell Vitrea 220) is a high-performance industrial bearing and circulating oil engineered to provide reliable equipment protection in circulating lubrication systems. Formulated with solvent-refined mineral base oils and a proven rust and oxidation (R&O) inhibitor additive package, it is specifically designed for plain and rolling element bearings, roll-neck bearings, and low to moderately loaded enclosed industrial gear sets operating where extreme pressure (EP) performance is not required. It can also be utilized for cylinder lubrication in reciprocating gas compressors. The formulation delivers outstanding water separation (demulsibility) and rapid air release to maintain protective oil film thickness and prevent pump cavitation. Key technical characteristics include an ISO VG 220 viscosity grade, a kinematic viscosity of approximately 220 $mm^2/s$ at 40°C and 18.3 $mm^2/s$ at 100°C, a viscosity index of 92, a density of 891 $kg/m^3$ at 15°C, a flash point of 280°C, and a pour point of -15°C. Compliant with DIN 51517-1 Type C, DIN 51517-2 Type CL, Danieli Standard 6.124249.F, and Morgan MORGOIL® specifications, it guards internal machine components against oxidation, rust, and sludge formation over long operating intervals.
