Shell Morlina S2 B 46 (formerly known as Shell Vitrea 46) is a high-performance industrial bearing and circulating oil engineered to deliver reliable protection and maintain system efficiency in circulating lubrication systems. Formulated with premium solvent-refined mineral base oils and an advanced rust and oxidation (R&O) inhibitor additive package, it is suited for plain and rolling element bearings, roll-neck bearings, and lightly loaded enclosed industrial gearboxes where extreme pressure (EP) performance is not required. Its light-to-medium viscosity formula provides fast air release to prevent pump cavitation and excellent demulsibility (water separation) to keep critical oil films intact even in humid environments. Key technical characteristics include an ISO VG 46 viscosity grade, a kinematic viscosity of approximately 46 $mm^2/s$ at 40°C and 6.8 $mm^2/s$ at 100°C, a viscosity index of 100, a density of 879 $kg/m^3$ at 15°C, a flash point of 228°C, and a pour point of -24°C. Meeting DIN 51517-1 Type C, DIN 51517-2 Type CL, Danieli Standard 6.124249.F, and Morgan MORGOIL® specifications, it guards internal machine parts against rust, sludge, and thermal breakdown over long maintenance intervals.
