Shell Morlina S2 B 460 (formerly known as Shell Vitrea 460) is a high-performance, extra-heavy industrial bearing and circulating oil engineered to deliver maximum protection in heavy-duty circulating systems. It is formulated with solvent-refined mineral base oils and an advanced rust and oxidation (R&O) inhibitor package, making it ideal for heavily loaded plain and rolling element bearings, roll-neck bearings, and low to moderately loaded enclosed industrial gear sets operating where extreme pressure (EP) additives are not required. It can also be used for cylinder lubrication in reciprocating gas compressors. The heavy ISO VG 460 grade provides an exceptionally strong oil film to support heavy loads at low speeds, while maintaining excellent water separation (demulsibility) and rapid air release to protect pumps from cavitation and prevent foam formation. Key technical characteristics include an ISO VG 460 viscosity grade, a kinematic viscosity of approximately 460 $mm^2/s$ at 40°C and 30.0 $mm^2/s$ at 100°C, a viscosity index of 94, a density of 904 $kg/m^3$ at 15°C, a flash point of 300°C, and a pour point of -9°C. Meeting the requirements of DIN 51517-1 Type C, DIN 51517-2 Type CL, Danieli Standard 6.124249.F, and Morgan MORGOIL® specifications, it guards system components against oxidation, rust, and sludge formation over long operating cycles.
