Product Description

Shell Mysella S5 S 40 is a premium, low-ash stationary gas engine oil specially developed for high-output 4-stroke spark-ignition engines operating on non-natural "sour" gases, including biogas, landfill gas, and sewage gas. It is engineered to deliver extra-long oil drain intervals by resisting the strong oxidative, nitrative, and corrosive effects of halogenated and sulfur-containing acids found in sour gases. Its optimized low-ash formulation (0.57% sulfated ash) significantly minimizes combustion chamber deposit formation while providing superior protection against engine wear, piston scuffing, and valve recession. With a low phosphorus content (≤300 ppm), it is fully compatible with exhaust gas emission catalysts, including CO, NOx, and formaldehyde converters. Additionally, in engines with crankcase gas recirculation, it helps reduce the fouling and clogging of charge air coolers. The lubricant carries key OEM approvals and meets specifications from major manufacturers, including INNIO Jenbacher (Series 2, 3, 4, and 6 for Fuel Classes B and C), MAN (M 3271-4 / M 3271-5), MWM, Caterpillar, and Waukesha.
