Shell Rimula R7 AX 5W-30 is a fully synthetic, low High Temperature High Shear (HTHS) heavy-duty diesel engine oil designed to maximize fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions in modern commercial fleets. Using Low-SAPS additive technology, it delivers extended drain capability and protects advanced exhaust after-treatment devices like DPFs and SCRs. It is tailored specifically for the latest Euro 6 engines requiring API FA-4 lubricants, including Mercedes-Benz (OM 470, 471, 473, 934, 936), Volvo, and Renault engines. Due to its low HTHS viscosity (2.9 mPa·s), it is not backward compatible with older heavy-duty engines. Key industry specifications and approvals include API FA-4/SN, MB-Approval 228.61, Volvo VDS-5, Renault VI RLD-5, Mack EOS-5, Cummins CES 20087, and DFS 93K223.
