Shell Tellus S2 M 46 is a high-performance industrial hydraulic fluid engineered to deliver reliable anti-wear protection, thermal stability, and consistent system efficiency across industrial manufacturing and mobile equipment. Formulated with high-quality mineral base stocks and zinc-based anti-wear additive chemistry, it resists breakdown under heat and mechanical shear, preventing harmful varnish and sludge buildup. The fluid exhibits fast air release, superior water separation, and excellent filterability—even in the presence of water—protecting hydraulic pumps and valve components against cavitation and wear. Typical physical parameters include a kinematic viscosity of 46.0 mm²/s at 40°C, 6.7 mm²/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 98, a density of 879 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of 230°C, and a pour point of -30°C.
