Shell Tellus S2 MA 32 is a high-performance, detergent-type industrial hydraulic fluid engineered for machinery where water contamination, fine particulate ingress, or severe sludge buildup is a risk. Formulated with highly refined mineral base oils and an advanced detergent/dispersant additive package, it emulsifies water and holds fine contaminants in suspension. This prevents free water from pooling in low points and stops sludge from settling on critical valve spools, pump surfaces, and actuators, maintaining smooth power transmission and precise system control. Its ISO VG 32 viscosity provides fast system response, excellent low-temperature pumpability, and robust anti-wear protection for high-precision machine tools, industrial gearboxes requiring light hydraulic oils, and outdoor equipment. Typical physical parameters include a kinematic viscosity of 32.0 mm²/s at 40°C, 5.5 mm²/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 98, a density of 874 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of 215°C, and a pour point of -30°C. Supplied in a standard 209-liter industrial drum, it meets detergent hydraulic specifications including DIN 51524 Part 2 HLPD / HLP, ISO 11158 (HM class), and leading machine tool builder standards.
