Shell Tellus S2 MA 46 is a high-performance, detergent-type industrial hydraulic fluid engineered for systems exposed to high levels of water contamination, cutting fluid ingress, or fine solid particulates. Formulated with Group II mineral base oils and an advanced ashless detergent and anti-wear additive package, it emulsifies water and keeps solid contaminants suspended in the fluid. This dispersant action prevents free water from pooling in valve manifolds and stops sludge from settling on critical hydraulic components, effectively preventing corrosion, stick-slip movement, and filter blockages. Its ISO VG 46 viscosity provides versatile year-round protection and precise response for stationary industrial hydraulic systems, machine tools, and equipment exposed to water-miscible metalworking fluids. Typical physical parameters include a kinematic viscosity of 46.0 mm²/s at 40°C, 7.0 mm²/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 107, a density of 877 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of 223°C, and a pour point of -24°C.
