Shell Tellus S2 MX 100 is a high-performance industrial hydraulic fluid formulated with Group II base oil technology and an advanced zinc-based anti-wear additive system. Designed to succeed the legacy S2 M series, the Group II formulation provides significantly higher thermal stability, enhanced oxidation resistance, and superior deposit control under severe operating conditions. The fluid delivers rapid air release, excellent foam control, and strong water-separation capabilities to prevent cavitation, protect pumps from micro-pitting, and maintain peak hydraulic power transmission efficiency. Typical physical parameters include an ISO VG 100 viscosity grade, a kinematic viscosity of 100 mm²/s at 40°C and 11.7 mm²/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 105, a density of 870 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of 240°C (Cleveland Open Cup), and a pour point of -24°C. Supplied in a 20-liter pail for convenient top-offs, smaller systems, and service maintenance, it meets major global specifications including ISO 11158 (HM fluids), DIN 51524 Part 2 HLP, ASTM D6158-05 (HM fluids), and GB 11118.1-2011 L-HM.
