Shell Tellus S2 MX 68 is a high-performance industrial hydraulic fluid formulated with premium Group II base oil technology and an advanced zinc-based anti-wear additive package. Designed as the direct successor to the legacy Shell Tellus S2 M 68, its Group II base stock delivers significantly enhanced oxidation resistance, thermal stability, and deposit control under demanding heavy-duty operating conditions. The fluid ensures rapid air release, superior water separation, and excellent filterability—protecting high-pressure hydraulic pumps, valves, and actuators from cavitation, sludge buildup, and premature wear. Typical physical parameters include an ISO VG 68 viscosity grade, a kinematic viscosity of 68.0 mm²/s at 40°C and 8.9 mm²/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 105, a density of 872 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of 235°C (Cleveland Open Cup), and a pour point of -24°C. It complies with major industry specifications and OEM requirements, including ISO 11158 (HM fluids), DIN 51524 Part 2 HLP, Parker Denison HF-0/HF-1/HF-2, Eaton E-FDGN-TB002-E, and Bosch Rexroth Fluid Rating RDE 90245.
