Shell Tellus S2 VX 68 is a high-performance, shear-stable hydraulic fluid formulated with advanced Group II base oil technology and high-viscosity-index (HVI) modifiers. Designed as the direct successor to the legacy Shell Tellus S2 V 68, its upgraded Group II base stock delivers superior thermal stability, enhanced oxidation resistance, and long-term deposit control under heavy loads and variable operating conditions. Tailored for heavy-duty industrial machinery, mobile equipment, and outdoor systems exposed to wide temperature swings, it maintains proper viscosity and reliable film strength from cold start-ups to continuous, high-temperature operations. Typical physical parameters include an ISO VG 68 viscosity grade, a kinematic viscosity of 68.0 mm²/s at 40°C and 11.0 mm²/s at 100°C, a high viscosity index of 145, a density of 870 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of 235°C (Cleveland Open Cup), and a pour point of -30°C.
